The clever design of the FG100 makes it look like a boom box or portable stereo. Inside the case is a full featured device with direct encoding and an intelligent Human Eye Sensor for the screen, optimising the screen contrast and brightness to suit all lighting conditions. The OLED screen is bright and the information is clearly laid out as we have come to expect from MPIO.
The main controls on the unit are incorporated into what looks like the speakers. The left hand button controls PLAY/STOP and also turns the FG100 on and off, while the right hand control is a joystick providing you with track and menu navigation along with access to the EQ presets and other sound enhancements. The outer edge of the speaker styled controller is finished with a rough edge so that your thumb can grip it, you can know rotate it and adjust the volume!
The FG100 connects to your PC/Mac via USB, has an FM tuner and a direct MP3 encoding input, and all of this is powered by a single AA battery giving up to 40 hours playback.
