You now need a domain name and web hosting to create a website. HostGator offers a free domain name when purchasing a web hosting plan with an annual subscription. If you do not wish to obtain a domain name from HostGator, you can obtain it from other domain name providers.

How to manage a WordPress blog with HostGator
Step 1: Selecting a hosting plan
First go to the HostGator website and click on the Start button!
Here you see three different types of accommodation: Hatchling, Baby, and Business.
If you want to create a single site, choose the Hatchling plan, and if you want to create two or more sites, choose the Baby plan. To select a plan, click Buy now!
Step 2: Select domain name
Now it’s time to choose a domain name. Your domain name must be unique. To find the best and unique domain name, you can get help from the domain name generators.
After selecting a unique domain name for your site, type it into the Domain Name field, as shown in the following figure. Also choose a domain extension, for example . B. .com, .net, org, etc. The standard domain extension (i.e. .com) is best if it is available with your domain name.
Once you have entered your domain name, you will find the Add Domain Privacy option at the bottom of this section. If you want to keep your domain data private, check this box, otherwise you can delete it. Domain protection will cost you $14.95 per year if you activate this option.
If you already have a domain name, select the second tab I already have this domain name and enter your own domain name here.
If you have a domain from another Internet service provider, you can simply change the name server settings for their domain.
Step 3: Fill in the details of the accommodation
Now choose a billing cycle of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 24 months or 36 months. More months means more discounts. For example, if you choose for 36 months, you get a 60.5% discount. I recommend that you opt for a 36 month hosting plan as it allows you to take advantage of a large discount compared to other billing cycles.
Now enter your username and hosting PIN.
Step 4: Input of billing information
Fill in all necessary invoice data such as name, e-mail address, etc. and payment method. If you want to pay with a credit or debit card, fill in your card details, otherwise you can also pay with PayPal.
Step 5: Power on/off Add-On Service
With the Hatchling rate all extras are covered, so only the services you wish to purchase are ticked. If you do not wish to purchase additional services, disable all services.
These additional services include positive SSL, SiteLock, business email with Outlook from Office 365, website backup and SEO tools.
Step 6: Enter the code of the HostGator cheque in

Step 7: Check your details and place your order
You can view the information about your accommodation and the total amount you have to pay. The total price (hosting + domain) is $105.35 including tax.
Now read the HostGator Terms of Use and click the Check Out Now button.
Here you have successfully created a HostGator account and become the owner of your first website.
Step 8: Installation of WordPress
After clicking the Order button you will receive your cPanel username and password and the cPanel link in your email. cPanel is a portal where you can manage everything related to your hosting.
Now click on the cPanel link in your email and enter your cPanel username and password.
After logging in to cPanel, go to SOFTACULOUS APPS INSTALLER and click on WordPress.
Click on the Install button on the next screen.
After clicking the Install button, enter your site name, site description, administrator username, and administrator password.
Write down the administrator username and password in a safe place. With this username and password you can login to the WordPress site.
In the last step, click on the Install button.
Once the installation is complete, you can login to your WordPress site.
To connect to your site, type /wp-admin after the address of your site.
Example: http://yourdomainname.com/wp-admin
If you have used an SSL certificate, enter the following URL,
Example: https://yourdomainname.com/wp-admin
Once you are logged in to the WordPress site, you can start posting articles and installing WordPress themes and plugins.
